The Malone girls 12U hockey team takes a break from the Empire State Games’ opening ceremony on Thursday for a snapshot inside the Olympic Center in Lake Placid. The girls opened ESWG play early on Friday in Tupper Lake with a 3-2 win against the Saugerties Fillies. Cami Stone netted the game-winner for the Malone squad, as Vail St. Hilaire scored the first goal of the Empire State Winter Games for the local ladies. Emma Gibson added the second Malone marker, while assists came off the sticks of Gibson and Abby Monette.
